The Hijāb & Purpose

Hijāb means a barrier or shield.

It is a means of covering, sitīr (concealment). Coverings or veils are forms of Hijāb. Being covered or veiled is being in Hijāb.

The purpose of being in Hijāb - conceal beauty, uphold faith and dignity.

In Hijāb -

You are known to be a Mu'min (Believer) part of the Muslim Ummah

You embody a lifestyle of Hayā

You are free from societal standards and its corruptions

You are protected from evil

Your faith shines brightly

A reminder of Allāh سبحانه وتعالى

Being in Hijāb is a connection to Allāh, a reminder of one’s values, and a commitment to living a life of modesty and spiritual strength. It is self-respect and empowerment of knowing your status.

Do not be affected by the corruption of society's devaluation of women and the illusions of Dunya. Islam holds women in highest regard.

Understand the essence of covering and the virtues of Hayā.

What is precious is covered.
